Objective To investigate the status of depression with somatization symptoms among college students during the epidemic of COVID-19 and explore the related risk factors. Methods From March 12 to March 19, 2020, using cluster sampling, the questionnaire was distributed on the Internet, and all first-year undergraduates of 2019 in Communication University of China,Nanjing were investigated by using the Psychological Questionnaire for Public Health Emergency(PQEEPH), Symptom Check List-90(SCL-90) somatic factor, Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS) and self-designed general demographic data, and the data were analyzed by univariate and multivariate Logistic regression. Results A total of 3406 valid questionnaires were collected, with effective recovery rate of 93.01%.The detection rate of depression was 55.73%(1898/3406) and the detection rate of depression with somatization symptoms was 4.90%(93/1898). The somatization symptoms were muscle soreness(100.0%), low back pain(97.8%), weakness in a certain part of the body(95.7%), headache(92.5%), nausea or stomach discomfort(92.5%), etc. Logistic regression analysis showed that single parent family(OR=2.977, P=0.000), PQEEPH neurasthia dimension score(OR=3.693, P=0.000), PQEEPH compulsive anxiety dimension score (OR=6.794, P=0.001), moderate degree of depression(OR=1.788, P=0.065), severe degree of depression (OR=4.462, P=0.003) were risk factors for depression with somatic symptoms of college students during the epidemic. Conclusion During the COVID-19 epidemic, a certain proportion of college students had depression with somatization symptoms. The anxiety-obsessive mood, neurasthenia, moderate and severe depression and single parent family factors were the risk factors of depression with somatization symptoms among college students. |
