Section 1: Scope

The journal is an academic journal of clinical psychiatry. Guided by clinical practicality, the journal reports the latest achievements, progress, theories, ideas, technologies and the improvement of techniques in the fields of etiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and nursing of mental diseases. The column mainly includes original research article (clinical, preventive and nursing), case report, case analysis, systemic review, traditional review, perspective and special topic. The journal offers a "green channel" of fast publication for the following article types. We look forward to your submission:

1) Articles of funded projects

2) Prospective, multicenter, randomized controlled study with a large sample

3) Articles of preventive medicine and epidemiological investigation

4) Basic experimental research on pathogenesis, development and prognosis of disease

5) High quality cutting-edge comment, research and outlook

Section 2: Requirement for Manuscript

1.General Requirement: Manuscripts should be scientific, innovative, practical, accurate, normative and readable with clear viewpoint, sufficient argumentation, concise wording, reliable data, clear structure, standard writing and proper statistical methods. Generally, the main body text of original research articles, reviews and lectures shall be no less than 5,000 Chinese characters (excluding English abstract, tables, figures and references). The main body text of case discussion and case report shall be no less than 2,000 Chinese characters.

2.Title: The title of the article should be both in Chinese and English. It should be concise, accurate, normative, easy for searching and well reflecting the content of the article (within 20 Chinese characters). Vague or superfluous words should be avoided. The English title should be the same as the Chinese title in content.

3.Authors: Beneath the title should be the authors’ names in Kaiti font separated by commas. For authors whose names are only two characters, two spaces should be inserted between the surname and the given name. The institutes of authors should be marked with Arabic numbers in parenthesis, placed in the middle beneath the names, and separated by semicolons. Each institute title (no need to specify department) and corresponding city and post code should be placed in a separate line. Beneath the institutes, information of the corresponding author (name and E-mail address) should be placed in the middle. An asterisk should be placed in front of “Corresponding Author” and after the corresponding author’s name.

4.Abstract: Original research articles should include Chinese and English abstract. The Chinese abstract of original article shall be about 300-500 characters. Abstract should be structural, including four sections: Objective, Methods, Results and Conclusion, and shall have corresponding subheadings. It should be written in the third person perspective by avoiding using subjects like “I” or “we”. English and Chinese abstracts should be the same in content. “Objective” section should be a sentence to describe the problems to be solved and the purpose of the study; “Methods” section should cover the sampling methods, intervention methods, indicators and measurement; “Results” section should show statistics; “Conclusion” section should be a brief description of the result. Review and other types of articles should have descriptive abstracts.

5.Key Words: Please try to use words listed in the latest version of Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) by the US National Medical Library. All articles should have 3~5 key words both in Chinese and English. Besides headings from MeSH, common free words combination can also be used and placed in the last. Key words of traditional Chinese medicine should be selected from the Chinese Medicine Thesaurus compiled by the Institute of Information on Traditional Chinese Medicine, CACMS. Abbreviations should be restored to their full spellings according to the Annotation Sequence of Medical Subject Words. The first letter of each English keyword should be capitalized and the key words should be separated by semicolons.

6.Terminology: Medical terms shall be selected from Medical Terms published by Science Press and reviewed by the National Scientific and Technical Terms Review and Approval Committee. For technical terms that have not yet passed the approval, authors could take reference to the latest version of MeSH, the Annotation Sequence of Medical Subject Words and the Subject Words List of Traditional Chinese Medicine. For terms without commonly-used translation, the original words shall be included in bracket when they appear for the first time in the manuscript. The names of Chinese and Western medicines shall be subject to the latest version of the Pharmacopoeia of the People's Republic of China and the General Names of Chinese Medicines (both issued by the Chinese Pharmacopoeia Committee). If it is necessary to use a trade name, its general name shall be stated first. For terms that have not been approved, authors can take reference to English-Chinese Medical Terms published by the People’s Medical Publishing House.

7.Acronyms: Please avoiding using acronyms in the text. When truly necessary, acronyms can be used while full English name must be given at its first occurrence, in the form of "full Chinese name (full English name, English acronym)". In abstracts the form shall be "full Chinese / English name (English acronym)". For common professional acronyms, full English names may be omitted, such as CT, CNS, WBC, RBC, PCR, MRI, EEG, ECG, CSF, ELISA, PBS and other buffer solution and pathological staining methods.

8.Funding information: If the article has funding or is approved as a key research project at the national, provincial or ministerial level, it shall be footnoted at the bottom left of the title page, such as "Project Fund: ×× Fund (No.). Funding certificate should be provided. Please refer to the guide for funding statement at the "Download Center" of the Chinese website.

9.Main Body Text: For the requirement of the main body text, please refer to Original Research Article, Review, Case Report and Table in the “Author Instruction” list of this website.

10.Figures and Tables: All tables shall be concise and comply with the principle of statistics. The titles of figures and tables should be both in Chinese and English while the content only in Chinese(1) Generally, a three-line style is adopted. There should be a subject-predicate relationship between horizontal and vertical headings. The subject is generally placed at left and the predicate is generally at right. If there is a row in which total numbers or statistical results are included, then a dividing line shall be added above the row. The vertical heading includes “general vertical heading” and “vertical heading”. The “general vertical heading” is an explanatory term about the meaning of the data, such as “subject numbers”, “mortality”, “percentage” and “blood glucose value”, while the “vertical heading” often indicates the secondary categories. (2) The form shall have serial number and bilingual titles, which shall be printed at the middle-top. The table number shall be arranged in Arabic numerals. If there is only one table, "Table 1" shall be marked. Leave a character blank between the table number and the table title. (3) Pictures should be middle arranged and definition should be at least 300 pixels. Pictures should also be numbered independently from tables. The authors are responsible to double-check the data to guarantee accuracy and consistency. For details, please refer to Table in the “Author Instruction” list of this website.

11.Reference: The heading of “References” should be placed on the left. The format of citation in the text is a superscripted [number], and the reference listed at the end of the article should also be marked with [number]. There should be a space between the number and the first letter. Each reference must be marked with its type, and the format of each type of reference is shown in the following example.All Chinese references should be translated into English. Authors should try to use literatures published within the latest 5 years as references.

For authors’ name in English, the format is: “last name, the first letter of other names”. For example, “Malcolm Richard Cowley” should be written as: “Cowley M R”. When there are no more than three authors, all of them should be listed; If there are more than three, the first three shall be listed and followed by “et al.” For example, “Malcolm Richard Cowley, Alice gill, Frank Norris, Irving Gordon” should be written as “Cowley M R, Gill A, Norris F, et al.”. All punctuation marks should be followed by a space. Chinese references shall be translated into English under the same order number and the English shall be placed beneath the Chinese. Section 3: Fees

Once the manuscript publishing is confirmed, a fee shall be payable, which will be specified in a publishing notice (The standard is 0~700 RMB per thousand words). After publishing, two free copies of the current issue shall be posted to the first author.

Section 4: Method of Submission

       Authors are required to submit their manuscript online. The journal has adopted the OSID (open science identity) code since 2019. Authors must apply for an OSID code for the article before submission and upload the code along with the manuscript and the required documents to the following website: www.psychjm.com.net.cn.
