      Objective The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of “LI MIAN TIE”on chronic insomnia therapy. Methods A total of 41 volunteers with chronic insomnia were recruited into this study and 30 volunteer finished the 20 days study.Thirty volunteers underwent “LI MIAN TIE”therapy for 20 days,and fulfilled Insomnia Severity Index (ISI),Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PQSI),Flinders Fatigue Scale (FFS)before “LI MIAN TIE”therapy,in the 7th and 20th days after “LI MIAN TIE”therapy.And all of them fulfilled sleep log very day during this study.Results “LI MIAN TIE”improved ISI[(19.07±5.71)vs.(14.90±5.49)],PQSI [(13.63±4.18)vs.(11.43±4.19)]and FFS[(12.10±5.64)vs.(10.60±4. 74)]after 20 days (all P〈0.05)but not 7 days(all P〉0.05)therapy when compared to before therapy.Sleep latency[(50.89 ±29.42)min vs.(38.94±18.83)min],episodes of wake after sleep onset[(2.32±1.45)vs.(1.67±1.03)]and time duration of wake of after sleep onset[(69.07±59.34)min vs.(57.34±46.33)min]were decreased significantly after 20 days therapy when compared to before therapy;total sleep time[(309.17±81.45)min vs.(327.55±77.02)min]was increased significantly after 20 days therapy.Conclusion “LI MIAN TIE”can effectively improve insomnia severity,sleep quality in patients with in-somnia.
