Objective To explore the anxiety and depression status and related factors of medical staff in closed-door psychiatric ward during the outbreak of COVID-19, so as to provide references for improving their mental health status. Methods A total of 124 medical staff in closed-door psychiatric ward of Linyi Mental Health Center were randomly selected, and assessed by general condition questionnaire, Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7(GAD-7) and Patient Health Questionnaire-9(PHQ-9).Results Among the selected staff, the detection rates of mild, moderate and severe anxiety were 49.59%, 4.96% and 4.13%, respectively, and the detection rates of mild, moderate, moderate-to-severe and severe depression were 30.58%, 7.44%, 2.48% and 2.48%, respectively. GAD-7 scores showed significant difference among psychiatric staff of different ages (F=3.207, P=0.044), and the PHQ-9 scores had significant difference among psychiatric staff of different child bearing status and different behavior types (F=3.993, P=0.048; F=6.523, P=0.002). Stepwise regression analysis showed that age and type A behavior were the factors influencing the anxiety (β=0.225, 0.183, P<0.05), and type A behavior and age were the main factors influencing the depression of medical staff in closed-door psychiatric ward (β=0.258, 0.187, P<0.05 or 0.01).Conclusion During the outbreak of COVID-19, the medical staff in the closed-door psychiatric ward have various degrees of anxiety and depression, while age and type A behavior are high-risk factors of anxiety and depression.
