【Abstract】Objective To explore the influence of emotional catharsis on the psychological status, coping style and intervention satisfaction rate of adolescents in Nanchong area in the post-epidemic era. Methods A total of 390 adolescents from two middle schools, two county-level middle schools and two universities and in Nanchong city were selected from January 2021 to April 2022 by random stratified cluster sampling method. They were divided into control group and experimental group by random number table method, with 195 cases in each group. The experimental group received emotional catharsis intervention; The control group received self-regulation and relaxation without other intervention, and both groups received intervention for 3 months. Before and after the intervention, the Symptom Checklist 90 (SCL-90) was used to evaluate the psychological status of adolescents, the simple coping style questionnaire was used to evaluate the coping style of adolescents, and after the intervention, the self-made satisfaction questionnaire was used to evaluate the satisfaction of adolescents to the intervention. Results After intervention, the total score of SCL-90 in test group was lower than that in control group (t=42.597, P<0.01). The score of positive coping style questionnaire was higher than that of control group (t=30.488, P<0.01), and the score of negative coping style questionnaire was lower than that of control group (t=46.562, P<0.01). The satisfaction rate of intervention was higher than that of control group (98.96% vs. 89.74%, χ2=15.321, P<0.01), the difference was statistically significant. Conclusion Emotional catharsis may help to improve the mental health status, coping style and intervention satisfaction of adolescents in Nanchong after the epidemic.
