Objective To explore the mediating effect of rumination on parental rearing style and adolescent depression. Methods A total of 302 adolescents were investigated using the General information questionnaire, Short-Egna Minnen av Barndoms Uppfostran,Beck Depression Inventory-II and Ruminative Responses Scale.Results The detection rate of depression in adolescents was 50.00%, and the average score of depression was (15.33±10.66)points.Gender and maternal education were independent influencing factors of adolescent depression (P<0.05), accounting for 6.10% of the variation.Rumination plays a significant mediating role between paternal emotional warmth, paternal overprotection, maternal overprotection, maternal rejection and adolescent depression, with indirect effects of -0.110, 0.221, -0.121 and 0.136, respectively.Conclusion Rumination mediates paternal emotional warmth, paternal overprotection, maternal overprotection, maternal rejection, and adolescent depression. |
